Program Overview
Experience creativity in action with a field trip to Lux Art Institute. The Luxcursion includes a docent-led tour through the artist’s studio and exhibition areas, followed by a related hands-on art project in the Copley Classroom. During a Luxcursion students also have the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor lunch and explore the sculptural installations and native landscape of the Lux grounds.
Luxcursions are available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. There is a maximum of 32 students per school group. Schools should provide a minimum of one adult chaperone for every 10 students.
Sample Luxcursion Schedule
9:00-9:20: Introduction and site tour with Lux Liaison
9:20–9:40: Studio tour and interaction with Lux resident artist
9:40–11:00: Hands-on arts project in Copley Classroom
Cost: Luxcursion is $5/student and free for adult chaperones.
Transportation: Please arrange for your own transportation. Bus parking is available in the lower parking lot. Reimbursement for travel expenses is available through ArtsBus Xpress. For information visit
